Veterinarian: Dr. Mike Hughes
I have been married to my wife Nan for 43 years. In September 1994 we bought Corpus Christi Animal Clinic from Dr. Prouty and have been working together at it ever since. We never dreamed we would experience the joy that CCAC has brought to our lives over the years. We love our clients, our patients, and our awesome staff like they are family. We have been blessed with this clinic and we love what we do. Thank you to all who have passed through our doors and entrusted us with the care of your furry friends and thank you to those who have yet to come.
I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I graduated form King High School in 2003. I began working at CCAC in August of 2003, while also attending Del Mar College. That was 12 years ago! I have learned so much since then. I have always had a love for animals and dreamed of working with them as a child. I have a 11 year old boxer, named "Calvin", he is the protector of my home and the guardian of my baby boy "Finley". I love being a Mom and am proud to announce the addition to my family of a new baby in February!
I graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 2013, and am currently enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University where I'm majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I plan to continue my education in veterinary medicine at A&M College Station when I've graduated from SFA. Last year I rescued the love of my life Amelia; she's a 12 pound dachshund who loves to chew through, and eat anything she can get in her mouth. I joined CCAC in January of 2015 and have loved every minute of it. Nan and Dr. Hughes are like second parents to all of us here, and we truly are a family.
Holly recently moved back to Florida to be closer to her family. We love her very much and wish her the best of luck in her new adventure!
I've worked here at Corpus Christi Animal Clinic since 2008, and I'm currently majoring in Bio-medical Sciences at TAMUCC. My goal is to become a veterinarian myself and work in a mixed animal practice. I have a lab mix named Landon who I adopted from Corpus Christi Animal Clinic. Working at CCAC has been a wonderful experience. I've had the opportunity to work with some incredible people while also learning a lot from Dr Hughes. I've never seen a work place so full of positivity while offering such amazing care for both clients and their pets.
